The Voices of Freedom Volume 2 6th Edition follows the same chapter structure as the sixth edition of a textbook. This documentary can also be considered an overview of American freedom history that stands on its own. In the two volumes, there are more than twenty documents that do not appear in the fifth edition.
Voices of Freedom Volume 2 6th Edition tries to convey the complexity of this compelling and contested idea through the selection of documents. These documents show how Americans have viewed freedom at various points in our history, including political, religious, economic, and personal freedom.

Voices of Freedom Volume 2 6th Edition documents
Several of these documents were suggested by Juniata College students who attend classes taught by Professor David Hsiung at Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. It is with great appreciation that I thank these students for their enthusiastic response to an assignment by Professor Hsiung, who asked them to locate documents that could be included in Voices of Freedom and to support their selections with historical arguments. The Historical Society of Pennsylvania has created an online exhibition called “Preserving American Freedom” that includes some of these documents.
American liberty
Collectively, these documents show how American liberty has changed and expanded over time. However, they also remind us that American history is not simply a narrative of increasing freedom. It is possible to achieve freedom, but it can also be taken back. Never take it for granted.
